 A ‘hit-and-run crash’ in Springfield leads police to arrest a man for trafficking in firearms and cocaine

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP ) – On Saturday, Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of an accident that happened on Route 91 Springfield.

Around 8:30 am, Trooper Nicholas Brooks of the State Police-Springfield located the vehicle at the parking lot for a restaurant in Main Street, Springfield.

Police identified Daryn Tacy, 34, from Keene in New Hampshire as the driver. Trooper Brooks requested a tow-truck because of the extent of damage done to Tacy’s vehicle.

Before loading the car onto the tow truck, Trooper Brooks checked the contents of the vehicle. The Trooper discovered a large pistol-grip shotgun during the inventory. Tacy was arrested after it was found that she did not have a license to carry a gun.

In a subsequent search, the Troopers discovered approximately 12 grams Crack Cocaine and a sandwich bag that contained approximately 56 grams Cocaine.

Tacy was arrested at Springfield Barracks and booked to appear in Springfield District Court for the following charges.
